There's an African proverb that goes like this...
Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the fastest lion, or it will be killed.
Every morning a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must outrun the slowest gazelle, or it will starve to death.
It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle.
When the sun comes up, you better start running.
Sure, it's a story of survival - but the hidden gem is that it's also a story of mastery. Every day do SOMETHING. Every little bit of focused effort pays massive dividends in time.
The greatest minds in history knew this. And they walked the walk...
We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.
- Aristotle
But here's the reality of this particular lesson: most of you won't do this. Most won't even start. And for the very few who DO take action on behalf of their own growth, take heart...
For every little step forward you take every day, 2 of your competitors, rivals, or those who will otherwise impede your progress, will quit.
Keep moving. Soon enough you'll be out in front.
